oiseanach.org Welcome! About [gnì.] Author

Hello there. Welcome to [gnì.] a nascent page for practicing using the irregular verbs of Gaelic. It is designed to help begining and intermediate students learn (or refresh) the forms, and quizzes you on randomly selected verbs, in any form or tense.
You can answer by pressing Return or clicking the button. If you get stuck, you can always Skip! to the next verb but remember - there are verb tables at the bottom to help you out. Just click any of the tabs to slide the table in or out.

This initial proof-of-concept version, unfortunately, does not support passive forms, the relative future and alternative irregular forms.
Problems entering accents? Get the UK Ireland Extended keyboard layout by Ciarán Ó Duibhín.
Remember to supplement learning the forms with exercises which will use them in context, targeting the syntactic (which form? indep or dep?) and semantic (which verb in a given situation?) aspects. The moodle exercises provide ample practice!

This page has been written by Wojtek Dziejma, a Gaelic 2B 08/09 student in the Celtic Department at Glasgow University, as a friendly gesture toward fellow students :)
